Paul Cooke appointed to FAI sub-committee to oversee ongoing investigations

Paul Cooke has been appointed to an FAI sub-committee to oversee ongoing investigations and procedures at the association with immediate effect.

Cooke has been nominated unopposed for the vacant position of Honorary Treasurer.

He is a chartered accountant who has worked as CEO of the Irish Daily Star and the Sunday Business Post newspapers in the past.

He was also a former director with Waterford United.

Cooke joins FAI President Donal Conway and board members Niamh O’Donoghue, Eamonn Naughton, Paraic Treanor and Noel Fitzroy on the sub-committee.

Welcoming the appointment, FAI President Conway said: “Paul Cooke’s experience in the media industry and in business, coupled with his acumen as a chartered accountant, is a valuable addition to our sub-committee."

Cooke added: “I look forward to working with the Board of the FAI on this sub-committee and I am confident that my business and financial background will be an asset to the processes underway at the FAI.”
