Paul Alexander compares Bengals’ Jonah Williams to Andrew Whitworth

The Cincinnati Bengals didn’t seem to hesitate much when it came time to get to the podium and make the No. 11 pick in the 2019 NFL draft.

Jonah Williams apparently leaves that impression on people.

Williams, an esteemed student of the game, three-year starter and potential pro left tackle, has a big fan in former Bengals offenisve line coach Paul Alexander.

Alexander, who worked with Williams this offseason, knows a thing or two about offensive linemen, even if his tenure with the Bengals ended on a sour note. So it is certainly notable he mentions Williams in the same breath as Andrew Whitworth.

Funnily enough, Whitworth leaving and the Bengals going all-in on the Cedric Ogbuehi and Jake Fisher draft is why coaches lost jobs and Williams was the pick here at all.

Williams has big shoes to fill and problems to fix for the Bengals. Ask people in the know like Alexander, though, the Alabama product is more than up to the task.
