Villarreal defender Pau Torres would be interested in a move to Manchester United this summer.
MEN Sport reported earlier in the month that United are one of the top sides currently looking into a possible move for Torres, 24, ahead of an uncertain transfer window.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is prioritising a move for a new centre-back this summer and Torres' natural ability as a left-footer make him an ideal candidate to be the long-term partner for club captain Harry Maguire.
It is believed Torres has a release clause in his current deal which lies in the region of €60million after he penned a contract extension until 2024 two years ago.
However, it is understood Villarreal could consider a player-plus-cash offer for Torres if any suitors are unable to match such a figure in the current financial climate.
A number of other Premier League clubs, including Manchester City, are also monitoring the Spanish defender's situation and MEN Sport understands Torres would be open to a move to English football.
There is also interest from both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich regarding a potential deal although sources close to the player insist he is fully focused on a strong end to the current campaign with Villarreal.
Torres missed out on a call-up to the Spain squad for the March internationals through injury but remains well on course to take part in his first major tournament with the rescheduled European Championship this summer.
It is understood any possible deal for Torres would likely to take place late in the summer window with the defender fully focused on his international ambitions.
Torres has featured 32 times for Villarreal this season keeping nine clean sheets and scoring three goals.
