Pattaya was bustling on Wednesday morning as it welcomed about 2,600 tourists and crew members arriving at Bali Hai Pier from a moored cruise ship.

The ship ‘Westerdam’, operated by US-based Holland America Line, anchored near Koh Lan in Bang Lamung district about 4am.

Boats later ferried 1,898 tourists and 797 crew members to Bali Hai Pier, so they could spend the day exploring the beach city.

The 280-metre-long cruise ship had earlier docked at Laem Chabang Port on Monday. Its next stop is Koh Samui. It is due there today.

Officials from Chon Buri Immigration, the Marine Department and tourist police helped the arriving passengers.
