Tourist police stepped up patrols in crime-prone areas and handed out gift chocolate bars to ensure tourists enjoyed Christmas night in Pattaya.
The commander of Tourist Police Division 1 led the effort by police and volunteers on Walking Street in South Pattaya on Wednesday night.
"Tourist police in Pattaya were deployed at crime-prone locations as a deterrent to criminals and to assist tourists. Business operators were also asked to be good hosts and make a good impression," he said.
Tourist police and volunteers also handed out about 1,000 chocolate bars and other gifts to tourists, he said
