PATTANI: Seng Baimad, alias Baboseng, deputy chairman of the Pattani Islamic Committee, died from a chronic illness at Pattani Hospital on Sunday at 1.13am. He was 61.
A large number of religious leaders and lay people from Pattani and nearby provinces gathered at Baboseng's house in Ban Khuan village, in tambon Na Pradu of Khok Pho district, for the burial.
The late leader was known for his advocacy for both society and religion. He played an important role in promoting cooperation between government agencies and Muslim people, particularly religious leaders, over several decades.
