Patsy Palmer ‘does a Piers Morgan’ and storms off Good Morning Britain live on air

EastEnders actor Patsy Palmer stormed off Good Morning Britain during a virtual interview, after expressing upset over how she was billed on-screen.

Palmer, who is best known for her role as Bianca Jackson on the long-running BBC soap, was appearing on the ITV talk show to discuss her new wellness brand, Good and Proper.

Along the bottom of the screen was a caption reading: “Patsy Palmer: Addict to Wellness Guru”, which Palmer was apparently unhappy with.

“I’m gonna do a real Piers Morgan and just say that it’s not okay to have ‘addict to wellness guru’ on the bottom of the screen,” said Palmer, who was calling in from Malibu.

“Huge apologies for that!” replied host Susanna Reid.

Palmer continued: “My addictions that I had years ago that were talked about by me many, many years ago – it’s over, so I’m not gonna talk to you anymore.”

Palmer then shut her laptop, making her screen go dark. A visibly bemused Reid and her co-host Ben Shephard then apologised to Palmer.

“I’m so sorry about that, Patsy,” Shepherd said. “It wasn’t our intention to upset you. That’s obviously a quote from Patsy’s book, as she’s talked about in the past, and it certainly wasn’t our intention to upset Patsy.”

“We had no idea that was on the screen,” added Reid.

In her 2007 autobiography, Palmer revealed her past experiences with drugs and alcohol, writing that in her twenties she “was bingeing [her] life away on cocaine, ecstasy, and enough vodka and Laurent Perrier Champagne to quench a small village’s thirst for several hours”.

Palmer’s live walk-off comes just over a week after Morgan stormed off the Good Morning Britain set during a confrontation with presenter Alex Beresford over his comments about Meghan Markle.

Morgan subsequently resigned from the show the following day.
