Patsy Palmer admits she's 'nervous about breaking bones' on Dancing On Ice as she's 'weak'

Patsy Palmer is to don her skates as she competes in Dancing On Ice, but has admitted she's nervous about doing the hit show.

The former EastEnders star, 50, might be known for her on-screen bullish behaviour, but away from Walford, she's confessed she's a bag of nerves ahead of the competition.

She has opened up on her fears that she won't be physically up for the challenge, but insists she's ready and willing to give it her best shot.

The mum-of-four has accepted the skating challenge in order to prove to kids Charley, 30, Fenton, 22, Emilia, 21, and Bertie, 12, that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.

"I thought I wasn’t going to do this because it’s going to be too hard. I was also thinking about my age and that I might hurt myself," OK! reports the star as saying.

"I always want my kids to see it’s good to be doing fun things, challenging yourself and getting out there."

Despite previously taking her kids skating as youngsters, Patsy joked she would stop herself by crashing into the wall as that was the only way she knew how.

And she also gushed about how she is "there for the 50-year-old women" as she looks to impress with her new-found talents.

Patsy revealed that pals and former co-stars who have laced up their skates previously gave her the extra nudge needed to sign up.

Among those to tell her to take the plunge was actor Todd Carty, who played Mark Fowler in EastEnders.

Patsy said he had her in stitches during his 2009 stint. "Todd Carty really made me laugh. It was hilarious," she said. "He is the nicest person in the world."

She also praised Denise Welch's efforts in 2011, saying she was "impressed" and is now excited to take part.

Prior to her Dancing On Ice sign-up, Patsy was involved in The Masked Singer in 2020.

She took part as "Butterfly" and said the show was "a great experience".
