Patryk Klimala 'set for Celtic medical' as £3.5m striker nears transfer switch

In-demand Patryk Klimala has agreed a a £3.5m move to Premiership champions Celtic - according to a report in Poland.

The 21-year-old Jagiellonia Białystok forward has been chased by a number of clubs but it appears the Hoops are leading the way to land the striker.

Neil Lennon 's side have been battling it out with Genoa to land the 21-year-old striker and the media in his homeland have indicated he will undergo a medical on Monday before being unveiled as Celtic's first winter signing.

The Hoops have been searching for a striker to help share the load alongside Odsonne Edouard .

But the former Legia Warsaw hitman insists he won't be happy to play second fiddle at his new club.

He said: "If a club wants me and it's a good opportunity for me then I will go and consider my options.

"But I want to make it clear that whatever club I sign for, I will be first choice striker. I'm not going to be fourth choice or anything. That will highly influence my decision on which club to join.

"I also want to play in a league that gives me the chance to develop my game.

"Playing for Jagiellonia Białystok has been a brilliant influence in my life. It's helped my formation as a person and improved my character. I would be very sad to leave the club.

"I haven't rejected a new contract with them. I have a brief chat with the club president, but there was nothing formal.

"My ultimate goal is to play for Poland. But first I have to prove myself with the Under 21s and hopefully I will get a chance if I do well with them."
