Patryk Klimala sends Celtic a transfer message as £3.5m striker eyes January move

Celtic target Patryk Klimala has confessed he’s ready to leave Jagiellonia Bialystok this month.

But the £3.5 million-rated Polish hitman is adamant he will not join a club just to sit on the bench and needs regular action to further his career.

Klimala is among the strikers under consideration from Celtic as Neil Lennon looks to strengthen in the transfer window.

The 21-year-old is attracting interest from across Europe with Italians Genoa the highest profile of the other recognised suitors at this stage.

Jagiellonia are resigned to the fact he will go if they get the right offer with an agreement in place that he will be sold if the Poles get an offer to the currency equivalent of four million Euros.

Klimala has confirmed he’ll quit for the correct opportunity, but says he wants to be a top-choice at his new club.

He told TVP Sport: “My agent is to call me only when there are specific offers on the table. I don’t know what the outcome will be, but the talks will definitely start in January.

“If someone wants me and it is a good option, I will go and fight for my own.

“But first of all, I don’t want to be the fourth choice. Only the first. I want to develop, so I will also choose a league that will give me that.”

Celtic are looking to provide extra support for main man Odsonne Edouard and Andraz Sporar remains another option.
