Patryk Klimala 'seals' Celtic exit to New York Red Bulls as transfer fee for striker revealed

Patryk Klimala is on the verge of joining New York Red Bulls, according to a report.

The Polish striker had travelled Stateside to agree personal terms after Celtic gave him permission to talk to the MLS side.

And Glasgow Times claim the switch is a 'done deal' with the Parkhead side set to recoup the £3.5million fee they spent on him last January from Jagiellonia Bialystok.

The same report says the Hoops will receive up to as much as £4m with add-ons and all that is left is for Klimala to complete his medical.

Klimala has struggled since arriving at Celtic and has only managed three goals in 28 appearances, although he hasn't been given regular playing time behind the likes of Odsonne Edouard and Albian Ajeti.

The attacker will join former Celtic team-mate Cameron Harper who joined Red Bulls last month after the youngster was frustrated with the lack of pathway to the first team.

Edouard and Leigh Griffiths have been tipped to join Klimala and Harper out the exit door this summer, meaning there could be a new-look forward line for Celtic next season.
