Patryk Klimala on the Maciej Zurawski Celtic seal of approval as he hopes to find magic touch

Patryk Klimala has told Celtic fans he has the magic touch after getting the Maciej Zurawski seal of approval.

The Polish hitman checked in to Parkhead after completing his £3.4m move from Jagiellonia Bialystok on a four-and-a-half year deal.

Klimala insisted he can make the step up to join the Premiership champs and he revealed he has the backing of former Hoops fans favourite Zurawski.

The 21-year-old said: “I haven’t spoken personally to Maciej but I read his interview in the press where he said some very nice things about me and said I was making the right choice.

“Hopefully I can have the chance to speak with him to thank him for his kind words.

“I understand how massive a club Celtic is, but I feel I’m ready for this now. I’m looking forward to playing for a club with such a big history and I know Celtic are a huge club in Europe.

“I want to give fans a lot of happiness and hopefully score a lot of goals for Celtic.”

Klimala arrived in Scotland as one of the highest reated prospects in his homeland. The frontman has blasted seven goals in 18 games this season and is a regular in the Poland under 21s.

He admitted it’s been a whirlwind few days as the deal got forced over the line but he is itching to get on to the pitch after being given the Celtic Park VIP tour.

Klimala said: “It’s a big moment for me and I’m very excited. I’m very happy to be here at such a massive club.

“The last 24 hours were intense. I was waiting for the decision to be finalised so I could finally come here and meet everyone. I had the chance to see the stadium and I felt the atmosphere.

“It was amazing so I’m looking forward to playing here in front of the fans. I’m very happy that everything is finished now and looking good.”

Celtic are also looking to finalise their £2m move for Bnei Yehuda powerhouse Ismaila Soro with the fee and personal terms completed and a medical expected in the next 24 hours.

Boss Neil Lennon is stepping up his bid to strengthen got the run in – but he’s facing a fight to land Stoke City star Tyrese Campbell.

The 19-year-old is out of contract in the summer and can be picked up on the cheap in a cross border swoop.

Rangers are also interested but several Premier League sides are preparing to pounce, with Wolves, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth in the hunt, along with Bundesliga big guns RB Leipzig.

Stoke boss Michael O’Neill doesn’t want to let the youngster go in January and is still hoping to persuade the striker in to signing a new deal.
