Patryk Klimala Celtic transfer latest as Hoops 'firmly back in' for Polish striker

A report in Poland suggests that Celtic are "firmly back in" for Jagiellonia Bialystok striker Patryk Klimala .

Record Sport revealed that the 21-year-old was one of the names on Neil Lennon 's radar, as he looks for a backup to Odsonne Edouard.

The Hoops have also been linked with Andraz Sporar of Slovan Bratislava and Le Havre's Tino Kadewere but Przegladsportowy reports that they're now pushing forward for Klimala.

The Polish outlet states that Celtic have "have come back to the game very strongly" and are "firmly back in" for the striker.

They also state that Klimala has a release clause in his contract of €4million (£3.4m) which was agreed when he extended his contract in 2018.

Jagiellonia Bialystok are keen to get him to extend and agree a higher buyout clause but the player himself would like it to stay in place.

The website insists "it cannot be ruled out that they (Celtic) will finalise the transfer in the coming days".

Klimala's agent Tomasz Magdziarz confirmed yesterday: "We don't want publicity, particularly on this issue, but I can confirm we're holding some talks on Patryk's behalf.

"The window is still open for a long time, so many things could still happen. I think that during the next week we will know more."

Meanhwile, Sporar has told his agent he would 'prefer' a move to Sporting Lisbon over Celtic.

The striker is high on Lennon's wishlist as he looks to bring a striker in during this month's transfer window.

The Slovan Bratislava striker has a host of clubs tracking him, including Sporting, and A Bola claims Sporar would snub the Parkhead club for the Portuguese side if he had the choice between both sides.

Sporting are in talks with Bratislava but have yet to reach an agreement for the talisman with an initial bid of £4.3million rejected.
