Celtic misfit Patryk Klimala is earning £800,000 a year for his club in New York after the MLS revealed players' salaries in the league.
And Scotland international Johnny Russell has now topped the £1 million a year barrier and is picking up a salary of £1.13 million - just short of £22,000-a-week.
The American league must publish every players' salaries each year and revealed the list this week, which shows Polish flop Klimala is now earning over £15,300-a-week at New York Red Bulls following his move earlier this year.
Former Dundee United star Russell - who has been with Sporting Kansas City for three years - is now the 13th highest paid striker in the MLS.
Other Scots in the MLS currently playing include another former Celtic player, Lewis Morgan, who is receiving a salary of £393,000 a year at Inter Miami, current Scotland international Stuart Findlay, with the ex-Kilmarnock defender earning around £302,000 a year with Philadelphia Union and ex-Rangers and Hearts stopper Danny Wilson, who received £205,000 from Colorado Rapids.
The highest-paid player in the league is Los Angeles FC's Carlos Vela, who earns a salary of £4.8 million.
