Patryk Klimala a Celtic transfer target as chase heats up for in-demand Polish striker

Celtic are on the trail of £3.5 million-rated Polish striker Patryk Klimala.

Record Sport understands the highly-rated Jagiellonia Bialystok hitman is among the list of attackers on the Parkhead radar as they hunt new faces during the transfer window.

Klimala is under consideration having burst into the spotlight at his club with seven goals in 16 appearances this term.

The 21-year-old has caught the attention of European scouts with Italians Genoa having been credited with an interest and German Bundesliga sides eyeing his progress.

Ironically, FC Copenhagen, the Danish outfit who will face Celtic in the last 32 of the Europa League next month, have also been linked with the hitman in the Polish media.

Jagiellonia are aware their prized asset is attracting serious attention during this transfer window and it's believed an agreement within his contract means he would be sold if the currency equivalent of four million Euros is matched.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon is keen to add striking alternatives to his squad with a host of options currently being assessed and Klimala is also being checked.
