Patriots’ Tom Brady has another fan in Celtics’ Enes Kanter

There’s a good chance many throughout New England are telling Enes Kanter to get in line. After all, they were here first.

Kanter, who officially signed his contract with the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, got on the good side with Boston sports fans not once but twice during his media availability at the Auerbach Center.

First, Kanter threw shade at Public Enemy No. 1 Kyrie Irving. If that wasn’t enough, he doubled-down on what he knew was beloved topic in all of New England.

“I’m actually a very big fan of Tom Brady,” Kanter told the media Wednesday. “I actually want to meet him. I was going to say it at the press conference, but I was thinking should I do it or not?

“I’m definitely a big fan. I would love to meet him. What he does on and off the (field) is amazing. Not just football, but for sports. If he’s listening right now, I want to meet you, my man.”

Kanter may get his chance sooner rather than later as the Patriots open up an open-to-the-public training camp next week. It could call for an introduction with No. 12 and the Celtics new-and-improved No. 11.
