The New England Patriots sent two scouts to the Oklahoma Sooners pro day to observe the proceedings, including quarterback Kyler Murray’s throwing routine. Murray did not throw at the combine, The Providence Journal’s Mark Daniels spotted Patriots scouts Brandon Yeargan and Camren Williams on the NFL Network broadcast of the pro day.
New England is unlikely to get the chance to draft Murray, who is likely to get selected in the top 10 picks of the draft. However, the Patriots may be doing their due diligence on a player who might end up their opponent in 2019. The Miami Dolphins, for example, are a quarterback-needy team.
