Patriots remain betting favorite to sign Cam Newton this offseason

As long as Cam Newton remains a free agent, there will be speculation on his next team in the NFL.

Newton, 31, is by far the best free agent quarterback available and he’s been working diligently this offseason to be prepared for any opportunity. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, he has the highest odds (+300) to end up with the New England Patriots.

Here’s where the odds stand.

New England Patriots: +300
Arizona Cardinals: +800
Pittsburgh Steelers: +800
Tennessee Titans: +800
Washington Redskins: +800
Baltimore Ravens: +900
Los Angeles Rams: +1000
Seattle Seahawks: +1000

There have been many rumors saying the Patriots have no interest in Newton, but it all seems to be just speculation at this point. Bill Belichick’s reality is that he’s trying to replace the greatest quarterback of all time with a second-year player in Jarrett Stidham. The magnitude of the situation is tremendous and it’ll be a ton of pressure on a young quarterback.

Newton has dealt with pressure and conflicting situations in the NFL for nine seasons. He also carries a similar fire to Tom Brady — which would prove useful in hyping up the offense.

Ultimately, the Patriots have remained betting favorites for weeks now. They seem adamant on keeping Stidham and Brian Hoyer at the top of the depth chart. Signing Newton seems like a longshot, but the odds will speak for themselves.
