Patriots RB Sony Michel shines in Monday night blowout

Former Georgia running back Sony Michel had a touchdown party this Monday night, as the New England Patriots blanked the New York Jets 33-0 in the Meadowlands.

Michel finished the contest with 19 carries for 42 yards and 3 TD’s, a new NFL career high in scores for him.

The former Georgia great also has as many touchdowns (6) less than halfway through the regular season (7 games) as he had all of last years regular season.  That being said, he absolutely went off in the playoffs and had the only TD of last seasons Super Bowl victory.

Michel also laid the wood on Jets’ LB C.J. Mosley on a truck-stick hit for a first down.

WATCH:

Michel doubled his season touchdown total last night from 3 to 6 on the year.  He now has 18 rushing touchdowns in 23 career games, including last years playoffs.

New England is 12-0 when Michel scores a rushing touchdown.
