Patriots QB Cam Newton promotes ‘Vegan Strong’ diet in new PETA ad

New England Patriots quarterbacks and strict dietary restrictions seem to be synonymous — winning NFL MVP awards as well.

Tom Brady, who spent 20 seasons with the team, infamously had a very strict diet with the “TB12 Nutrition Plan” that he strongly endorsed. Cam Newton is coming into the organization with the same priority of maintaining a healthy diet, but his exclusively includes a plant-based regimen.

Newton, 31, became a vegan last year and has credited his body’s ability to recover so quickly to the diet. He teamed up with PETA in an interview and promoted the lifestyle change that’s made a ‘remarkable change’ in his body.

“I’ve seen such a remarkable change in the way my body responds to the food that I eat,” Newton said in the commercial.

“Vegan. Vegan strong,” Newton said last October. “That helps a lot. I’ve been a vegan all year, and I don’t think I’m going back. I feel good. I recover well. And that’s pretty much what it’s all about.

“It’s not putting certain things in your body that is going to combat your body trying to recover. You want to put things in your body that is going to expedite that whole process.”

Let’s see if any other Patriots follow along.
