Patriots OC Josh McDaniels doesn’t know if Tom Brady will report to OTAs

New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is not sure when Tom Brady will join the team for the offseason program, but is not worried about the quarterback’s independent preparations.

“When he’s here, I’ll be happy to see him,” McDaniels said Friday during a media availability at Gillette Stadium with the team’s assistant coaches. “I trust completely what he’s doing, I’m sure he’s in good shape and good conditioning, and preparing for the year.”

Brady is expected to skip the voluntary portion of the offseason, organized team activities, for the second straight season. It did not seem to impact either Brady or the Patriots last year — he led the team to its sixth Super Bowl title.

As Brady gears up for the 2019 season, he will have some new faces to integrate into the offense. Running back Damien Harris, first-round wide receiver N’Keal Harry and tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins are among them. During his introductory press conference on Thursday, Harry said he had not yet met Brady.
