Patriots LT Marshall Newhouse returns to practice, shows optimism for Sunday

New England Patriots left tackle Marshall Newhouse returned to practice on Friday after missing Thursday’s practice with an illness.

The entire 53-man roster was present on Friday, and the team should be fully healthy heading into Sunday’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills. The Patriots have a dire need for Newhouse to be on the field, after putting Isaiah Wynn on the injured reserve list.

Tom Brady has been dealing with a calf injury for the past two weeks and he’ll need more protection than ever at the age of 42. Newhouse has done a solid job of protecting Brady, but they’ll likely have to turn to Korey Cunningham if he can’t go.

Dante Scarnecchia has done an excellent job of keeping Brady off the ground in the first three games, but his depth is quickly evaporating.

His presence on the field is a solid sign that he’ll play on Sunday.
