Patriots, Lions to hold joint practices in early August

The New England Patriots will hold joint practices with the Detroit Lions in early August ahead of their preseason matchup.

The practices will take place in Detroit and will be held from August 5-7 — before their preseason matchup on August 8. The Patriots have many ties with the Lions — including coaches Matt Patricia and Bob Quinn — along with Trey Flowers and Danny Amendola.

The Patriots acquired former Lions tight end Michael Roberts in a trade on Wednesday, and they also received one of their best linebackers in Kyle Van Noy from Detroit in 2016.

New England could very likely hold joint practices with the Tennessee Titans as well, who they have many ties with.
