Days after earning the Super Bowl MVP award while sporting a spectacularly bushy beard, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman visited the Ellen show and left the set looking like an entirely different person.
Edelman allowed Ellen DeGeneres to shave off his beard, and Ellen is using the scraps of Edelman’s beard to raise money for the Boys & Girls Club of Boston. Edelman and DeGeneres each donated $10,000 to the organization for the initial trim.
The show launched an auction for a “resealable zipper storage bag” containing the beard, which comes with an autographed photo from Ellen. The auction will run until February 28th, and the minimum bid is $1,000.
