Patrick Vieira has revealed that he was not contacted by Arsenal during the club's search for a long-term successor to Unai Emery.
Emery landed the sack last month and Freddie Ljungberg placed in temporary charge of the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta was eventually sounded out and became the club's new boss but not before an extensive search.
Vieira was linked with a return to Arsenal during this process but despite the speculation, the former star midfielder turned Nice manager insists he that he did not have talks about the role.
Asked if he had been contacted, Vieira said, per Mirror Football: "No. It's flattering seeing your name everywhere but I am under contract with Nice.
"I have known since I arrived how lucky I am to be involved with this club's project. I don't have any intention or desire to go and look elsewhere. The objective is to play in the Champions League one day, but it will take time."
After retiring from football in 2011, Vieira became Manchester City's reserve team and Elite Development squad manager.
He was interviewed by Newcastle United in 2015 about taking over as manager but nothing materialised.
Vieira became New York City's manager in the same year and helped improve the club's standing in Major League Soccer.
This led to his switch to Nice last June. The French side currently sit tenth in Ligue 1.
