Patrick Vieira handed Crystal Palace selection dilemma for Everton after Wolves clash

Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira faces a midfield selection dilemma ahead of his side's trip to Everton on Saturday afternoon.

Midfielder Cheick Doucoure picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the Eagles' 2-1 win over Wolves at Selhurst Park on Tuesday evening, meaning he will miss the trip to Goodison Park.

The 22-year-old who signed from RC Lens during the summer transfer has adapted well to life in south London, starting all nine of his appearances this season and scoring his first goal of the season against Brentford at the end of August.

But his fifth caution of the season dampened what was a brilliant win and performance against the West Midlands side, with Doucoure almost grabbing a goal from distance only to see his effort smash off the post.

After picking up yellow cards against Brentford, Leeds, Leicester and Newcastle prior to the game against Wolves, the midfielder stepped off that disciplinary tightrope he was walking after fouling Adama Traore on the edge of the area.

It will be a bitter blow for Vieira, who will now have to look for alternatives in the middle of the park to take on Frank Lampard's side.

Michael Olise could drop deeper into midfield and allow Jean-Philippe Mateta to replace him up front, or he could opt for the experience of club captain Luka Milivojevic to combat Everton's lively midfield.
