Patrick Viera has taken a different stance to former teammate and compatriot Thierry Henry on the potential Arsenal takeover bid, as Spotify's Daniel Ek remains interested.
Viera will make a special return to Arsenal on Monday, as he faces his former club for the first time as manager, as Crystal Palace travel to the Emirates.
Arsenal are far from the side that Viera played in, and a potential switch of ownership from the Kroenke family to Ek was backed by Gunners' legends Henry and Dennis Bergkamp.
However, Viera has disagreed with Henry's optimism, and opted for a more realistic approach.
Viera supported the takeover alongside his former teammates back in April, following the European Super League incident, but the Palace boss has since changed his views on the deal.
The Frenchman looked back on his previous comments and said: "I was just expressing myself as Patrick, ex-Arsenal football player. That comment was based on how the direction (of the club) was going.
"I was talking to somebody who had a different view and a different way of taking (forward) Arsenal Football Club. This was the reason why with Dennis and Thierry were involved in the kind of situation that Arsenal was in.
"I am in a different position than a couple of months ago. So I'm not going to express myself in the same way than when I was just an ex-Arsenal football player."

Henry remains determined to help push a move over the line, and has reiterated that a deal is not off the table, and the all-time Arsenal top scorer has been seen attending matches with Ek at the Emirates.
The Frenchman said: "It hasn't happened yet, but we and he is here to stay. So let's see what's going to happen."
Despite his optimism, Viera distanced himself from the situation and said: "When you were looking at the situation at the time it was clear that the Kroenke family was making the statement that the club is not for sale.
"Then I think everything was over. You can't buy a football club if it is not for sale."
Viera travels with his side to the Emirates to face a rejuvenated Arsenal side, who have turned around a dreadful start to the season and taken ten points from a possible 12 over the past four Premier League games.
Palace only have one Premier League win, although it was one that Arsenal fans enjoyed, as they thrashed Tottenham 3-0 at Selhurst Park, but have also only lost to Chelsea and Liverpool so far this season.
