Patrick Vieira criticises Arsenal defender as Edu is dealt £60m transfer blow

Welcome to our football.london The Arsenal Way daily news round-up. Maybe not the first, we've definitely done transfer round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all. Anyway, we thought we would enter the world of football in a broad and roundabout manner for you and have some fun with some of the stories and captions doing the daily rounds.

Patrick Vieira criticises Ben White

Arsenal defender Ben White has faced criticism from Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira after comments made by the Englishman about not watching football.

The Express has reported that Vieira said: “Watching games shows the passion and love you have. Thierry [Henry] would watch any kind of game in any league in any country.”

The Gunners’ defence has looked much more assured since Ben White has come into the side following his £50 million transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion as the club are currently on a four game unbeaten run.

Arsenal’s next opponents are Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace side and Ben White will be looking to prove the former Arsenal player wrong.

Gary Neville explains Arsenal fans’ displeasure

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has said that Arsenal fans won’t be happy they are playing twice during the week as he will be covering the games.

He said on Instagram live “We have got Arsenal coming on at Friday night this week (against Aston Villa) and on Monday night (against Palace).

“Arsenal’s fans aren’t happy with me this week because they are on Monday and then Friday. So, there have been a couple of Arsenal fans that have whinged at me.”

The Gunners play Crystal Palace on Monday night and then Aston Villa on Friday which are both on Sky Sports.

If Arsenal win both of these games then the club will climb into the top four.

Guendouzi impresses in Marseille win

Matteo Guendouzi has continued his impressive form by scoring a brace for Marseille during a Ligue 1 match on Sunday evening.

The French international also provided an assist in what was a Man of the Match performance against Lorient.

The midfielder made the loan move to Marseille in the summer transfer window following damage in relations with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

Since his loan move, Guendouzi has won the UEFA Nations League with France and been an excellent performer for his current club side, Marseille.

Arsenal told Dominic Calvert-Lewin deal unlikely

Former England and Leeds United man Carlton Palmer has said that a deal for Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be unlikely for the Gunners.

He told This Is Futbol: “No chance, no chance whatsoever. I mean, when you say no chance, I don’t believe it will happen, but everybody’s got their price.

“But I don’t believe Arsenal, after the money that they splashed out, can go and pay 60 or £70m for another player – and Everton will ask for big money for him.”

The Gunners have been linked with the England international after it emerged that Alexandre Lacazette is unlikely to stay at the club due to his contract expiring in the summer.

And with Premier League experience under his belt, Calvert-Lewin would be the perfect replacement.
