Love-triangle killer Patrick Quirke has lodged an appeal against his conviction for the murder of Bobby Ryan.
The Tipperary farmer was found guilty by a jury in a majority verdict at the Central Criminal Court on May 1.
Quirke, 50, of Breanshamore, Co Tipperary had pleaded not guilty to the murder of Bobby Ryan, a part-time DJ going by the name Mr Moonlight.
Mr Ryan went missing on June 3rd, 2011 after leaving his girlfriend Mary Lowry’s home at about 6.30am.
His body was found in an underground run-off tank on the farm owned by Ms Lowry and leased by the accused at Fawnagown, Tipperary 22 months later in April 2013.
It has now emerged that Quirke lodged his appeal on May 16.
Quirke has recently been moved from his cell in Mountjoy to Limerick Prison.

During the trial, the prosecution claimed that Quirke murdered Mr Ryan so he could rekindle an affair with 52-year-old Mary Lowry.
The jury took eight days to come to their judgement.
The trial itself last nearly 15-weeks, the longest in the history of the state.
