Patrick Peterson wants to be with Cardinals, per Kliff Kingsbury

Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson did not report for the team’s voluntary minicamp on Tuesday and is not expected to be there with the team for the rest of the week. It is believed he is unhappy with the team about something that was done or said by management.

However, coach Kliff Kingsbury is not worried and indicated the team is aware of the situation. Not only that, Kingsbury noted how Peterson doesn’t have any desires of leaving the team.

When Kinsgbury addressed the media after practice on Tuesday, twice he reiterated the minicamp is voluntary. He also said he has spoken with Peterson.

“I’ve communicated with Patrick,” he said. “We know where he’s at. We know what’s going on.”

Kingsbury said there is no disappointment in his absence because of the communication he had with Peterson. He also made it clear Peterson is still happy to be a Cardinal.

“It’s a voluntary camp and we know Patrick wants to be here and wants to be part of this deal,” he said, referring to being a member of the Cardinals.

It would appear that whatever is going on with Peterson and the team is, in fact, something between him and someone else other than Kingsbury. Obviously, he doesn’t have to be there now, as the work is voluntary. Things will get more interesting if this absence carries over into June when they have OTAs and then mandatory minicamp.
