Patrick Peterson set to lose nearly $4 million in salary, Pro Bowl streak

Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson has been suspended by the league for six games under the policy for performance-enhancing drugs.

He is set to make $11 million in salary in 2019. Players get 17 weeks of salary checks, so Peterson will lose more than $3.88 million in salary.

The suspension also makes him ineligible for the Pro Bowl, which is significant. He has been a Pro Bowler in all eight of his NFL seasons.

It has been a tumultuous few months for Cardinals fans with regard to Peterson. He requested a trade but seemed to have reconciled things. Then he got upset with the team and will not participate in voluntary team activities. Now this news of the suspension is yet something else.

Peterson, who was a fan favorite and a franchise icon, has seen his star fall quite a bit. We will see if he can repair his image, which once was without blemish in Arizona.
