Patrick Peterson reveals CB Brandon Williams had back surgery

The Arizona Cardinals were without cornerback Brandon Williams for much of training camp because of a back injury. He began camp on PUP.

He was only recently activated from PUP on August 11.

The team never revealed anything about Williams’ injury but, thanks to teammate Patrick Peterson, we know it was apparently somewhat serious.

“Brandon’s coming back off his back surgery really well,” Peterson told reporters, according to AZCentral Sports’ Bob McManaman.

That would explain the extended absence.

Most have believed Williams’ time on the Cardinals roster was coming to an end, especially with his missed time.

However, with Peterson’s suspension and now the injury to Robert Alford, Williams seems very much in the mix.

If he can make the team again, considering his last couple of seasons and the time he missed, it would be nothing short of extraordinary.
