Patrick Peterson, Larry Fitzgerald, Carson Palmer all long shots at golf tourney

As they have done for many years, Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald and cornerback Patrick Peterson, along with former Cardinals and now-retired quarterback Carson Palmer, will participate in the American Century Championship, a celebrity golf tournament held yearly at Lake Tahoe.

None of the players are close to favorites for the tournament. Both Palmer and Fitzgerald have 75-1 odds of winning, while Peterson is 100-1.

The favorite is former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tomy Romo at 5-2.

Fitzgerald will be paired with Ray Allen and Jerry Rice in the first round, which begins Friday. Peterson is golfing with Adam Thielen (Vikings) and Golden Tate (Giants), while Palmer is with Steve Young and Bret Saberhagen.

Last year, Palmer did the best of the three.

The 54-hole tournament is Friday through Sunday, with celeb-am rounds Tuesday through Thursday, at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. It will be televised live on NBCSN (Friday) and NBC (Saturday and Sunday).
