Patrick Peterson Instagram posts suggest he is unhappy with Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson asked for a trade last season. He backed off of his request and even apologized to fans. However, now there is speculation he is unhappy with the team again based on things happening on his Instagram account.

Peterson changed his cover photo to him wearing a suit instead of his Cardinals jersey.

He posted this:

It says, “I see where we STAND!”

That was followed up by a post that included a clip from Drake’s “Duppy Freestyle” with the lyrics “I’m in shock. The nerve. The audacity.” Peterson’s caption was “Wow!”

After that, he shared a photo of several former teammates.

Some of the comments suggest unhappiness.

Former Cardinals defensive lineman Darnell Dockett commented, “No surprise to me… I seen it all.. all that (expletive) be fake,” to which Peterson responded in a comment, “Preach!”

Former Cardinals running back Chris Johnson also commented, “AZ always gonna be the same until they make changes upstairs.”

Trade rumors arose on social media, although those were refuted. One rumor involving the Kansas City Chiefs floated around.

Some are reporting, including Arizona Sports 98.7 FM’s John Gambadoro, that the Cardinals have no intention of trading him right now.

However, Gambadoro said Peterson will not attend voluntary minicamp, which begins today. When practice began this morning, he was not present on the field, according to the Arizona Republic’s Katherine Fitzgerald.

Peterson was present for offseason workouts that began earlier in the month. He has two years remaining on his contract. While it is not being reported, it could be he was expecting to have an extension negotiated. He will earn $11.25 million this year and $12.6 million next year. None of it is guaranteed.

While the presumed displeasure is not known to be about money, something is clearly going on behind the scenes.
