Patrick Peterson: ‘I’ll be back’ with Cardinals in 2020

Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson has not had a good season. He was suspended six games. He has had some rough games. He hasn’t looked like the lockdown cornerback he is supposed to be.

Many believe he wants to be traded and that the team could move on from him following this season, as he has one year remaining on his contract.

After a very good game against the Cleveland Browns, he removed any doubt on his end.

“This will not be my last home game here,” he said after the game when he was asked if this would be it at State Farm Stadium. “I’ll be back.”

Peterson said he is feeling better physically, still dealing with the effects of not playing or practicing the first six weeks of the season. “I felt great, moved around all week,” he said. “My legs are finally coming back to me.”

He earned a game ball for his play covering Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr., limiting him to only 66 receiving yards and snagging one interception.

A game like that will quiet the noise that has been increasing about his play and his future with the team.

Things can always change, as everyone knows, but Peterson has made it clear. He is certain he will be a Cardinal in 2020.
