Patrick Peterson, Brandon Williams among Cardinals not playing vs. Vikings

The Arizona Cardinals are treating the third preseason game as if it were the regular season. As such, because cornerback Patrick Peterson will be suspended for the first six weeks of the season, they will play the Minnesota Vikings without him.

Peterson, who is healthy, is not dressed for the game.

The Cardinals will go with the trio expected to be the starters in Week 1: Tramaine Brock, Byron Murphy and Chris Jones.

Cornerback Brandon Williams, who is battling for a roster spot and only recently returned from a back injury, also is not dressed. This is an interesting development because he has not played in the preseason.

Wide receiver Michael Crabtree, who signed this week, also will not play. However, defensive lineman Bruce Hector, acquired via trade just a couple of days ago, is in uniform and appears set to play.
