Patrick Mahomes showed major grit playing through injury during Chiefs-Jaguars in close-up look

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes battled through what looked to be a gnarly high ankle sprain en route to an AFC championship berth.

That unfortunate injury didn’t stop Mahomes from making it known he wanted to get back in despite the pain. He finished the game and impressed many with his fortitude in the moment.

If you’d like to get a very exact look at how Mahomes withstood his injury and led the Chiefs to victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars Saturday, check out this close-up look from NFL Films.

It doesn’t look pleasant by any stretch, but Mahomes found a way.

High ankle sprains are no joke, but it looks like Mahomes will still play in Sunday’s AFC title game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

It’s a highly awaited rematch of last year’s conference championship, and Chiefs fans will be hoping Mahomes can power through once again to reach another Super Bowl.
