Patrick Mahomes just became the newest owner of the Kansas City Royals at just 24 years old

When Patrick Mahomes signed his monster $503 million deal that will keep him with the Chiefs for the next decade, people wondered what he would do after getting that kind of money. After all, $503 million is a lot of money. There are only so many things you can spend that much money on.

But it looks like Mahomes found a pretty good thing to invest in. He just officially became a part owner of the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday.

The Royals announced the Super Bowl winning quarterback as a new member of their ownership group in a team press release. ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted it out.

He made it official with a tweet.

It’s definitely safe to say Mahomes is a Kansas City lifer now, one way or another.

The craziest part is he’s also doing this at 24 years old! Twenty-four!

At 24, my biggest accomplishment was figuring out what I wanted for dinner before 4 p.m. This dude is out here owning a team (and that’s only six years after he was DRAFTED by a Major League team, the Detroit Tigers!).

Salute to Mahomes. Though he is extremely young and an owner, he’s not the youngest owner in pro sports. That honor goes to Serena Williams’ two-year-old daughter, Olympia, who owns part of Angel City FC. And, uh, let’s not get into what I was doing at two years old.

Shoutout to both of them.
