Patrick Mahomes’ foundation donates shoes at his prep alma mater in Texas

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his foundation, 15 and the Mahomies, have come together to do some good at his high school alma mater in Whitehouse, Texas. The foundation is donating Adidas sneakers to athletes in need ahead of the new school year.

His brother, Jackson Mahomes, visited Whitehouse Independent School District this morning to deliver the gift to the students.

“It’s a great testament of who (Patrick Mahomes) is,” Adam Cook, Whitehouse athletics director said to EastTexas.com. “We’re very grateful for what he’s done. One of the things we’ve talked about with our team is just having an attitude of gratitude. So many times we take for granted the things that we have in life. And for Patrick to do something like this for these kids, it says a lot about who he is, his character.”

In 2017, 15 and the Mahomies donated new cleats to the Whitehouse varsity football team. The foundation that is dedicated to improving the lives of children and affording them opportunities that they may not have previously had. They focus on initiatives related to health, wellness, community and athletics.

Seeing the Chiefs QB give back to the schools that helped shape him into the athlete that he is today is powerful. You can watch a video of the athletes receiving their new shoes courtesy of KETK-TV at the top of the page. Perhaps Mahomes’ generosity will afford another a high school player the opportunity to live out his dream and follow in Mahomes’ footsteps.
