Patrick Mahomes’ face will be on a car’s hood at a NASCAR race this weekend

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is making an appearance at NASCAR’s race weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway — sort of.

Mahomes will be featured on the hood of NASCAR driver Gray Gaulding’s No. 08 Chevrolet for the Food City 300, the second-tier XFINITY Series race Friday. The paint scheme is part of a partnership with Panini America, which is promoting the release of its new 2019 NFL Donruss Football trading cards.

Mahomes shared a video of they No. 08 car being wrapped — not technically painted — and these are always mesmerizing.

After Friday’s race, the hood will be auctioned off to benefit Mahomes’ foundation, 15 and the Mahomies, which supports programs that focus on health, wellness and communities in need of resources.

Gaulding enters this weekend 13th in the XFINITY Series standings, which is one spot out of the 12-driver playoffs this fall.
