Patrick Mahomes cheered on Texas Tech at the Final Four in Minneapolis

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes was in the building to see his alma mater Texas Tech advance to the championship game in the NCAA Tournament.

Mahomes ventured to Minneapolis alongside his girlfriend Brittany Matthews, his godfather LaTroy Hawkins, Travis Kelce, and Kelce’s girlfriend Kayla Nicole. They were all comfortably seated in Texas Tech territory to watch as Tech faced Michigan State in the Final Four. Once the CBS cameras spotted Mahomes and company, they were in the spotlight all evening long.

Anytime the Red Raiders made a big splash play or did something to draw a reaction from the crowd, CBS would pan the camera to Mahomes. The fans at home were vicariously living this Texas Tech victory through Mahomes.

Mahomes was all smiles for most of the evening.

He even spent some time taking pictures with some of the Texas Tech faithful who made it out to the game.

I think fun might be an understatement.

Mahomes brings new meaning to the Texas Tech ‘Guns Up’ slogan.

The emotions were a bit much for Mahomes because his team is now headed to their first ever NCAA Tournament championship game with a 61-51 win over Michigan State.

Rest up MVP, you’ll have plenty more yelling to do as Texas Tech faces No. 1 ranked Virginia for a national title. Tipoff is at 8:00pm CT on Monday if you’re looking for another dose of excited Mahomes.
