Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs players shared concerns and prayers after Super Bowl parade shooting

Kansas City Chiefs players have started to send their prayers and concerns for the victims of a shooting that took place soon after the team’s Super Bowl parade on Wednesday.

USA TODAY reported that multiple people had been injured as a result of gunfire near Kansas City’s Union Station, around the area where the parade had taken place.

Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves shared in a press conference that one person had died in the shooting along with the multiple injured, per CBS News.

Kansas City Police said all Chiefs players, coaches and staff members were counted as safe after the shooting, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The Chiefs also issued a statement after the shooting.

Chiefs players like quarterback Patrick Mahomes, guard Trey Smith and linebacker Drue Tranquill responded on social media with their thoughts on the tragic situation.
