Dec. 07--It wasn't pretty, but it counted. Patrick Kane kept his point streak alive Sunday after assisting an Artemi Panarin's empty net goal in the Hawks' 3-1 victory over the Jets. Kane batted the puck to Panarin, who shot the puck in the net at 18 minutes, 14 seconds of the third period. Kane now has scored a point in 22 consecutive games, breaking Bobby Hull's franchise record.
Teuvo time
Teuvo Teravainen had been unhappy with his play of late as he shuffled around various lines. But Teravainen had a good day on Sunday when he scored his fifth goal of the season to give the Hawks a 2-1 lead 21 seconds into the third period. Teravainen scored from the right wing, it was his first goal since Nov. 4.
Daley down
There was a scary moment at the United Center when Trevor Daley collided with Jets winger Chris Thornburn, with Thornburn's leg making contact with Daley's shoulder. Daley remained on the ice and the Hawks brought out a stretcher. But Daley shrugged off the stretcher and skated off on his own power.
Hossa strikes
Marian Hossa got the Hawks on the board in the first period when he muscled his way to the front of the net and gathered a loose puck following a bouncing shot from Brent Seabrook. Hossa put home the rebound for his fifth goal of the season.
Rough reviews
The Hawks had some bad luck when it came to video review. First, after Marcus Kruger appeared to score off a rebound in the first period, the NHL overturned the goal, saying Kruger sent the puck in with a "distinct kicking motion." Then in the second, the NHL initiated a video review at 6:33 of the period after replay showed a Thornburn shot hit the back of the net at 5:34 of the period. It was a goal that officials missed upon first look.
