Patrick Kane's 4-point night, Robin Lehner's save lift Blackhawks to 5-3 win over Flames

CALGARY, Alberta _ The Blackhawks closed out a dominating decade with a solid road win that got scary toward the end.

Robin Lehner made several miraculous stops among his 41 saves and Patrick Kane had two goals and two assists to give him an NHL-best 802 points over the last 10 years in a 5-3 victory over the Flames on Tuesday at the Saddledome.

The Hawks nearly blew a four-goal lead when the Flames scored twice late in the third period, but they held off a furious attack in the final minute and Kane added an empty-netter with 0.5 seconds remaining.

Alex DeBrincat and Dylan Strome each had a goal and an assist for the Hawks, who won their third straight game and fifth in their last six to improve to 18-17-6 and give themselves a chance to go 3-0 on their road trip when they visit the Canucks on Thursday.

The Hawks moved to within four points of the final Western Conference wild-card spot but still trail four teams, including the Flames.

Coming off his first healthy scratch of the season, Maatta made it 1-0 less than five minutes into the game with his second goal of the season.

The Hawks went on the power play less than a minute later and DeBrincat converted for his 10th of the season, finishing off a pretty passing play from Kane and Dylan Strome.

Kane scored his 21st of the season to give the Hawks a 3-0 first-period lead as he took a pass from Dylan Sikura near the blue line and skated across the zone before firing a wrist shot past Flames goalie David Rittich.

Sikura, playing in his first game since Dec. 21 and just his fourth of the season, had a pair of assists for the second multipoint game of his career and first since making his NHL debut March 29, 2018.

With Corey Crawford celebrating his birthday on the bench, Lehner made his third straight start and didn't appear ready to give up the net anytime soon. He had a save-of-the-year candidate late in the first period when he dove far to his right to keep Johnny Gaudreau from scoring into an open net.

The Flames didn't get their first shot on goal of the second period until over five minutes had elapsed when Andrew Mangiapane had a breakaway, but Lehner stood tall to eat up the shot in his chest protector.

Strome's wrist shot on an odd-man rush gave the Hawks a four-goal cushion before Lehner finally let one through with 5.2 seconds left in the second to make it 4-1.

The Flames pulled within 4-2 with 4:30 remaining in the third period when Duncan Keith committed a turnover while retrieving the puck behind his own net during a power play. Former Hawk Michael Frolik buried a shot soon after, the third time in four games the Hawks have allowed a short-handed goal.

Sean Monahan scored a little over a minute later with an extra attacker to make it 4-3.
