CALGARY, Alberta — Patrick Kane’s streak of All-Star seasons will continue for a sixth consecutive year.

Kane was named on Monday to the 2020 NHL All-Star Game in St. Louis on Jan. 25.

It will be the ninth all-time appearance for the 31-year-old Hawks winger, and the news does not come as a surprise whatsoever.

Kane leads the team in goals (20), assists (27) and points (47), ranking 10th in the league in the latter category. That puts him on pace for 96 points this season, which would be the third-highest total of 13-year career.

He will be joined on the Central Division roster by the Blues’ Ryan O’Reilly, Alex Pietrangelo and Jordan Binnington; the Jets’ Mark Scheifele and Connor Hellebuyck; the Stars’ Tyler Seguin; the Predators’ Roman Josi; the Wild’s Eric Staal; and the Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon.

Robin Lehner had a strong case to be a second Hawks All-Star representative, and his .926 save percentage this season actually tops both Hellebuyck (.923) and Binnington (.921), but he was not selected.

Instead, fans will have a chance to vote in Jonathan Toews as a second Hawks representative, as Toews is one of seven players in the running to become the Central Division’s 12th and final All-Star.
