Georgetown coach and Basketball Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing revealed on Twitter Friday that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

“I want to share that I have tested positive for COVID-19. This virus is serious and should not be taken lightly,” Ewing wrote in a tweet. “I want to encourage everyone to stay safe and take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Now more than ever, I want to thank the healthcare workers and everyone on the front lines.”

Ewing is currently in isolation at a local hopsital, according to his statement, which also said that no other members of the Georgetown men’s basketball program have tested positive for the virus.

Ewing, an 11-time NBA All-Star, chose to make his positive test result public to emphasize the virus can affect anyone.

“I’ll be fine,” he wrote, “and we will all get through this.”
