Patrick Chung shares gnarly post-surgery photo of his broken arm

Warning: The image below may be considered graphic.

New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung, who wears the No. 23 on his jersey, fittingly needed 23 stitches after undergoing surgery on his broken arm, an injury which he sustained during Super Bowl LIII.

Here’s a look at his arm after surgery.

Despite dealing with such a significant break in his arm, he refused to get carted off the field. Instead he walked off the field on his own power. He also refused to stay in the locker room after getting diagnosed with the injury. Instead, he returned to the sideline to root on his teammates, and eventually to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

Speaking of hoisting, in a different Instagram post, he celebrated a successful surgery by hoisting his arm a few times, before admitting it hurt. Here’s that moment.
