Patrick Chung, N’Keal Harry, Braxton Berrios not present for Patriots’ third preseason game

The New England Patriots were missing safety Patrick Chung during the third preseason game on Thursday against the Carolina Panthers at Gillette Stadium on Thursday. His absence comes amid news that he has been indicted for charges of cocaine possession. Chung was among 14 Patriots players who were not present during warmups.

Those players were WR Cameron Meredith, WR N’Keal Harry, WR Josh Gordon, WR Braxton Berrios, WR Matthew Slater, WR Maurice Harris, S Obi Melifonwu, S Patrick Chung, DT Trent Harris, OT Martez Ivey, OT Yodny Cajuste, TE Matt LaCosse, LB Shilique Calhoun and LB Derek Rivers. Not only will those six receivers miss the game, but Julian Edelman and Demaryius Thomas are not expected to play, even though they are in pads.

If Brady plays, he’s likely to be throwing to receivers Jakobi Meyers and Phillip Dorsett, who spent time with the first-team offense in warmups. It will also be interesting to see which tight end, beyond Ben Watson, gets work with Brady.
