New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung exited the team’s Week 6 matchup against the New York Giants with a chest injury in the first half. He did not return, and was ruled out in the third quarter.
With Chung out, the Patriots favored safeties Duron Harmon, Devin McCourty and Terrance Brooks. McCourty took some snaps near the line of scrimmage as a box safety, which is customarily Chung’s role.
He had also been dealing with a heel injury, and was limited at practice in Week 6. On the season, Chung has 17 tackles.
