Patrick Bamford reveals Marcelo Bielsa's instructions and Adam Forshaw's Brentford prediction

Patrick Bamford admits he felt 'rusty as hell' on his Leeds United return but was confident he was going to get 'one chance' to score in the draw with Brentford.

The Whites' number nine came on as a substitute and salvaged a point against the Bees on Sunday afternoon with a 95th minute equaliser.

Tyler Roberts had fired Marcelo Bielsa's side in front at Elland Road, only for strikes from Shandon Baptiste and Sergi Canos in a seven-minute spell to turn the contest around.

Bamford was introduced in place of Junior Firpo just after the hour mark to make his first appearance in more than two months following an ankle injury.

The England international admits it will take time to regain his match fitness, but was always convinced he was going to be given an opportunity to level the score.

Bamford told the club's website: "I felt rusty as hell to be honest! It's always going to be like that for the first few games before you get back up to speed.

"But it was just nice to get back out there.

"I always felt as soon as I came on the pitch that I was going to get one chance. It didn't come for ages and ages, and I thought there was still time left, it's going to come.

"[Adam] Forshaw said to me you're going to get one chance, and so it happened."

When asked for the instructions he was given by Bielsa ahead of his introduction, Bamford added: "It was to try and give a presence in the area and spin behind, don't drop too short too much.

"Just try and do what you can really, and I just tried to stay in the box as much as I could and hope to put myself in the right position eventually."

Next up for Leeds is a trip to Chelsea on Saturday.
